Hi Chris & Marisa! You have a beautiful boat. After checking out this site, I see how much work you've put in to her. You are doing a great job and I'm sure she will be good to you when you head South!

The Anacapa
Has always been my absolutely favorite boat--but I've never seen one! There was an ad for one in CA and based on the description and conversations with the owner I fell in love. I was inSeattle then and FL now, so CA didn't work. Glad to find your site.

Greetings from Vancouver Island B.C.

I found your comments regarding the SD-33 on Cruisers Forum. I have one installed in a 33 foot wooden fishing troller, and it's been faithful for years, in spite of the fact that it's getting rather old. Installed back in the late 70's I find I have to change the oil more frequently now, to avoid oil pressure drop as temperature rises and it takes about 30 seconds of glow-plug to get a clean start when cold. Starting con consecutive days as when cruising comes more easily and with less smoke than when it's sat a week or more. Still, I run Rotella 15-40 and no other additives. I burn about 3/4 of a gallon of diesel at 5 knots in a 10 ton displacement vessel. I've planned a rebuild for next year.

Be well;

Found your website while looking for the hiistory of Challenger Yachts and felt a kinship since I own a Challenger 40 masthead sloop, full keel, and live aboard in San Diego, CA. Not sure but I thought I saw an Anacapa in the bay not too long ago and want to get back to explore my find. Would like to connect with other Challenger 40 owners. Thanks for a great site.
